Everything You Wanted To Know But Were Afraid To Ask
Relationships can be mysterious and hard to improve. What works for us may not work for our partners. There is no consistent standard or common shared expectations about what helps us be in our relationships. As a result, we do not know how to show up and make a difference in the lives of others. We feel left ‘holding the bag’. This course establishes methods to assess and respond to different types of relationships, realizing each has its own naturally unfolding process. This course consciously awakens us to the things everyone takes for granted. We are able to see what is needed and what can be accomplished in each relationship. The results are deeper and more meaningful connections.
This course covers every kind of relationship. While we may put on blinders when looking for romantic partners, this limits the partners we can find. Our First Lesson, therefore, is to be open to everything that shows up so we can discover how these opportunities can and will add value to our lives. It also helps to see that some kinds of relationships have a built in dependency, hierarchy and structure that may make them difficult for us (over time). Lesson Two is about assessing a partner’s availability and capacity to tell their truth. We need to recognize there is little or no growth possibility when relationships are less conscious than us. While it may seem safe and helpful to try and fix our partners (so they can be with us), it usually takes more time and effort than it may be worth.
Our relationships have more capacity when we can operate together in a Co-Creative manner. This requires experiencing a degree of alignment, where we do not need to explain ourselves to our partners and things work out. The easiest way to achieve this is to choose those who share similar Compatibility Factors. Compatibility Factors (CF’s) are patterns of behavior where, when we are aligned, we can experience ease and greater creative flow. While the main class for CF’s is Creative Uniqueness, we will cover the primary patterns and how they can be supportive, particularly if we love ourselves as we are expressing them. Primary Creative Expressions, Defense Styles and WorldView will be introduced. From this, we will learn why certain people resonate with us while others do not.
It is important to discuss how Motives, Attractions and Skills can make or break relationships. Higher Alignment’s capacity to see these things in others will be demonstrated. Being able to see defensive Distortions, so we do not get caught in polarized, ongoing disagreements, awakens us to patterns of protection that actually compromise what we seek. We begin to see the problems with Attachments, Positions and Projections. This provides credibility when we discuss the primary relationship issues that need to be addressed to not irritate others. It is essential that we understand the reasons why we need to grow so we can see a more balanced or complete view. This lets us make suggestions about how to improve our relationships by taking simple steps.
Finally, the class offers the basics about how to choose better partners or make our current relationships more fulfilling. People who have not yet had a mini Creative Assessment will be given one in the course. This will help participants take the next step of using the Compatibility Factors to better understand themselves. The more we can see our own patterns, the easier it will be to make new choices about how we want to show up with our partners. Please join us in exploring how we can all improve our relationships to make a more conscious world possible!
