Love is an internal experience of our energetic creative connection to everything that exists. The more we embody this connection, the easier and more joyful it is to share ourselves with others. Our ability to receive Love grows as we give it. Obstacles to this process are Attachments to infatuations, Positions about how we want others to treat us and Beliefs about our ‘specialness’ that trap us in self-limiting expressions of Love. Instead of experiencing Love through the distortions of Excitement and Intensity, or the Romantic Mythology of Idealized Love we can, instead, step into the creative world of Aliveness, Wisdom, enthusiasm and peacefulness. As we learn to love, we regenerate an authentic sense of Self that produces greater clarity and a natural connection to all that is.
One way we know we are loving ourselves is how much we can honor and engage others in our Primary Creative Expression. If we are unable to give of ourselves in this way, it indicates we have not yet fully embraced Radiant, Self-Unifying Love. Individuals who live this possibility operate from service and demonstrate a capacity to give that is not concerned about how much they get in return; they receive great joy in the giving. How much do you limit your ability to contribute to others? How much do we use our Defenses to keep others at bay (so they will not want something from us we do not want to give)? Radiant, Self-Unifying Love is how we maximize our fulfillment. Whenever we inhibit our Primary Creative Expression, we limit the joy and passion that make life worth living.
